Precious Gems was established in 2018 by it's founder, Shinaaz Adjiet, who realised the growing need of empowering and up-skilling woman. The focus of Precious Gems is not only geared towards woman, but young ladies as well.

The need to restore dignity to youth in times of struggle is prevalent, with this in mind, Precious Gems has been formed in an attempt to uplift spirits to lend a helping hand to those underprivileged ones. The first initiative launched was to collect unwanted scarves for Muslim youth, to hand out to mosques in the area. This led to the collection of sanitary pads for young girls at school. This venture required the need of funds which led to Precious Gems setting up a stall selling second hand and unwanted donated clothing. The total amount of funds raised from this initiative was used to purchase sanitary pads and later handed to schools in the area.

The founder later realised that these initiatives can become more formalised and continued on her path of giving back. At this point, business in the local community was approached to provide their support in any manner, the Amazing Group of Companies, comprising of Amazing Store, Amazing Hardware and Amazing Parties, all situated in the Colorado Shopping Centre, offering their staff and time to assist in any manner possible. Further to this, Westgate Laundry Services in the Westgate Mall offered to wash, dry, fold and pack the donated clothing, this ensures that when the clothing is donated, it is received fresh and as new.

Precious Gems is establishing itself at this point and requires all support possible, there have been offers to donate cash from willing donators, however at this point, Precious Gems do not have the facility to do so. Further to it's collection drives, Precious Gems has established itself in motivational talks to empower woman in business and those who intend to start up businesses, offering their support where needed to create an inspirational success.
